Boat trip to the natural pools of Maragogi: One of the worlds most important coral formations is found in Maragogi. Visit the ‘Galés’, the natural pools in the reefs of Maragogi. During low tide, natural pools are formed of crystalline water and behold the rich flora and fauna of the reefs. Nature will show its beauty at all fullness while snorkelling or swimming and you will see the most amazing types of fishes and corals. You can even do a guided dive with cylinder at a depth of 5 meters. The reefs are formed at only 6 km off shore and the trip is made by a catamaran type vessel.
A walk through the Atlantic Forest: The Trail of Visgueiro takes you back to the imagination of an undiscovered part of Brazil. During this tour you will see small houses made of wooden poles and clay where people of simple life live day by day. Porto de Galinhas Tour by day: History points out that as of the 1850’s, old European vessels brought in slaves from the African continent, hidden in dark holes behind piles of crates filled with ‘Angola’ chickens (or galinha in Portuguese). To announce the arrival of a new ship of slaves, the crews used the term that ‘fresh chicken had arrived in Port’, so this is where the name Porto de Galinhas (chicken harbour) comes from. Rumour has it that slaves from a part of Africa where they had the nickname Chicken, were transported and disembarked in the south of Pernambuco, but the original story is true and indicates the origin of the towns’ name.

Olinda was founded in 1532 -one of Brazils oldest cities- which preserves within its cities boundaries the narrow streets paved with old stones, uncountable slopes and numerous and historic churches, like the Monastery of St Benedict and the Igreja da Sé e da Mesericordia. A visit to the Alto da Sé observatory is a must whilst it is one of the areas where one of the biggest Carnaval celebrations of Brazil is held and which enchants even the most inattentive visitor. For all its charms and cultural value, in 1982 Olinda has been declared by UNESCO "Historical and Cultural Heritage of Humanity".
